Feely calls on all parties to support Pensioners' Parliament Manifesto.
Published: 1 March, 2016
Councillor John Feely has called on all parties to support the Pensioner's Parliament Manifesto.
Speaking after being part of a cross-party panel at the Pensioners' Parliament which met at the Bawnacre in Irvinestown last week, Mr Feely said:
"I was delighted to have the opportunity to take part in the Fermanagh and Omagh Pensioners' Parliament.
"There was a lively panel discussion where representatives of all the main parties heard the opinions, suggestions and concerns of the older people in our area.
"It was no surprise that the two most burning issues are health and transport; two areas whose deficiencies are all too easily highlighted in a large rural council district like Fermanagh and Omagh.
"I wholeheartedly agree with the Pensioners' Parliament Manifesto. Every one of the six points in the manifesto are legitimate demands and should be supported by everybody.
"Sinn Féin will certainly be taking these points on board and would call on all parties to do the same." -Ends/Críoch
